St. Augustine Illinois

St. Augustine Il is located in the southwest corner of Knox County Il.  The town was founded in 1836. It originally was  in Fulton Co. and moved over the line to Knox County to be on the railroad line.

The church was originally built in 1863 under the supervision of Father Allbrecht, and was at one time across the county line in Fulton County. A few years after being built, "Father Larmer removed it to it's current site". The original priest's house built about 1874-75, burned down in 1911, and the present parsonage was built in 1912
